Goatskin

Disclaimer: I do not have these in stock at all times, so please specify if you’d prefer any of these!

Capra Granulosa

Capra Granulosa goatskin has quickly become my most used goatskin. It feels soft in the hand, remaining very durable with use. It has a unique grain pattern, with pebbly spots and river-like patterns. It comes in a variety of colors.

Sokoto Goatskin

Sokoto goatskin is a river-grained goatskin that has a heavy reputation in the Bible rebinding community for great quality and rugged durability. It comes in many colors and is a joy to work with.

Liege Main Goatskin

Liege Main is a lesser known goatskin, but has become one of my favorites to work with. The unique feel is plush, with adequate strength. The grain is consistently pebbled. I typically get thicker hides for greater softness and grip.

Distressed Goatskin

I’ve been using this goatskin from the very beginning. My first rebind was out of this stuff. It offers a durable feel, yet a nice soft flexibility in the hand. The hides range from river grainy to waxy sections of rough goodness. Certainly a winner for the rugged look.

While this isn’t an exhaustive list of all my typical goatskin materials, it’s largely the bulk of what I use. If you have a special request, I’d be happy to try some new things out!

I have most colors in stock for these. I will be happy to order a specific color for you if it isn’t in my current stock (extra charge may be necessary).
